Free entry for Stars v Ajax clash

Free State Stars have taken a bold step as they look to create an intimidating atmosphere for visiting Ajax Cape Town in Tuesday’s Absa Premiership clash in Bethlehem.
The club has decided to open the gates and allow the public free entry to the game in a bid to bolster the crowd for what is another must-win league clash for relegation threatened Ea Lla Koto.
Coach Kinnah Phiri’s side picked up a vital 3-2 victory over Polokwane City on Saturday that moved them out of the relegation zone, and will be looking for three more points against Ajax.
Stars have lost just three of their 11 home games this season, while Ajax have been dismal travellers with just two wins from 12.
That will make Stars favourites and boosted by what they hope will be a big crowd, Phiri says his players can enjoy the occasion after beating City at the weekend.
“We have a sense of relief with our first win of the year,” Phiri told reporters after the game. “We’ve really played well, created a number of chances but just not been able to score. But I feel this win is a turning point.
“We shouldn’t look back again, we must now go forward. It will lift the spirits, the boys are very happy now and I know that they’ll be really determined for the match against Ajax.
“We have picked up confidence and I’m just looking no further than the Ajax game. Saturday’s game in Polokwane was a cup final for us, the one against Ajax we should be a bit more relaxed and we can make sure we win properly.”
