Ogbeche ends goal drought

Former Nigeria international striker, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored for Eredivisie club, SC Cambuur on Friday to help rescue a point against Excelsior.

The striker scored deep into stoppage time in the 1-1 draw at Cambuurstadion to take his tally for the season to 13 league goals.

Ogbeche, 30, who was booked in 51st minute of the contest last scored in the league on March 21 in the 1-2 defeat to AZ Alkmaar.

Elsewhere, Nigerians struggled to impose their authority as far as goalscoring contributions were concerned.

Brown Ideye was an unused substitute in West Bromwich Albion’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Victor Anichebe started the game for the Baggies but Shola Ameobi was an unused substitute for Palace.

Victor Moses is still out injured and did not play for Stoke City in the come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Southampton at the Britannia Stadium.

Peter Odemwingie has resumed full training but is still not fit enough to return from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that has ruled him out of action since August 2014.

John Mikel Obi made his return from injury with a two-minute cameo as he replaced the Spaniard, Cesc Fabregas in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Anthony Ujah failed to score despite racking up 85 minutes under his belt in Cologne’s 0-0 draw with Hertha BSC at Olympiastadion Berlin.

Italy (Serie A)

Ogenyi Onazi was an unused substitute for SS Lazio in the 0-2 defeat to Juventus at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Joel Obi replaced Assane Gnoukouri on 67 minutes of the Milan derby as AC Milan and Internazionale settled for a 0-0 draw at San Siro.

Spain (Primera División)

Kalu Uche provided the assist for Levante’s second goal in the 2-2 draw with RCD Espanyol Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

Ramon Azeez was on for 67 minutes before his place was taken by Edgar Méndez in Almería’s 0-2 defeat to Rayo Vallecano at Estadio del Rayo Vallecano.

Success Isaac led the line for Granada but failed to score in the 1-1 draw with Sevilla at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.

Uche Agbo was an unused Granada substitute on the day.

Ikechukwu Uche was on for an hour before he was replaced by Argentine, Luciano Vietto in the 0-0 draw with the bottom club, Córdoba.

Elderson Echiejile played all 90 minutes and was booked at the death as AS Monaco drew 1-1 with Rennes at Stade Louis II.

Vincent Enyeama was on from start to finish for Lille OSC in the 2-0 win over Girondins Bordeaux at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Bartholomew Ogbeche scored Cambuur’s solitary goal in the 1-1 draw with Excelsior at Cambuurstadion.

Raheem Lawal played all 90 minutes for Eskisehirspor in the 1-0 win over Kayseri Erciyesspor at Kadir Has Sehir Stadi.

John Utaka and Promise Isaac played their part for their respective clubs as Sivasspor and Balikesirspor settled for a share of the spoils in the 1-1 draw at 4. Eylül Stadyumu.

Ahmed Musa played all 90 minutes for CSKA Moscow in the frustrating 1-1 draw with Krasnodar at Arena Khimki.

Obiora Nwankwo is still struggling with a knock and missed out on Academica’s 0-1 defeat to Porto at the Do Dragao.

Michael Uchebo and Gabriel Reuben were both drafted in as second half substitutes in Boavista’s 1-2 defeat to Sporting Club at Estádio José Alvalade.
