Cedars return to impress at Copa

Lebanon's beach soccer team, the Cedars, will be making their second consecutive appearance at the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer which enters its third edition this year.
In last year's edition, the Lebanese pulled off one of the biggest upsets when they stunned former Beach World Cup winners, Portugal, 5-4 on the sand of the Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.
In recent months, the Cedars have shown they are emerging from the shadows as one of the fastest rising sides in beach soccer.
The Lebanese, in 2012, finished in fourth position in beach soccer at the Asian Games after winning their three group matches in an impressive style including thumping the UAE 8-3.
But the Asians did not have an impressive outing earlier this year as they failed to qualify for the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti.
The Lebanese started the World Cup qualifiers with a 5-3 win over Bahrain before Japan edged them 5-6.
However they went on to pip Thailand 6-5 but fell to the firepowers of Oman and China by 0-1 and 5-10 respectively.
The Asians will hope their second coming to Lagos will bring them success after narrowly missing the chance to win the Copa Lagos last year.
Lebanon will storm Lagos next week with huge entourage and these are their Players to watch: Haitham Fattal, Mohammed Choker, Mohamad Halawi, Mohamad Merhi
This year's Copa Lagos Beach soccer championship will start on December 13 to 15 and the Nigerian Super Sand Eagles are the defending champions after winning the first two editions.
