Zesco United’s new signing Christopher Chigozie has failed to make the cut for this Sunday’s 2015 Caf Champions League away match against Mbabane Swallows.
The Nigerian striker joined Zesco in January from Bayelsa United.
“He is among those others who haven’t made it,” Zesco spokesperson Katebe Chengo said.
Chigozie is one of two high profile arrivals in January who have not made the trip to Swaziland.
Also dropped is Zambia striker Jonas Sakuwaha who is on a season-long loan from DR Congo champions TP Mazembe.
However, Zesco coach George Lwandamina’s 19-member squad has two Zambia internationals who were part of Chipolopolo’s 2015 Africa Cup outing.
Defensive midfielder Kondwani Mtonga who played in all three games in Equatorial Guinea has made the team.
Striker Jackson Mwanza who played in Zambia’s opening Group B game against DR Congo on January 18 is also part of the travelling party.
Lwandamina has also taken four foreign signings for the preliminary round, first leg match.
They include Togo defender Emmanuel Mathias who has just extended his loan at Zesco for another year from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Others are Nigerian defender Ayo Oluwafemi, Harambee Stars defender David Odhiambo and Tanzanian striker Juma Liuzio.
