Ex-Ghana league goal king Emmanuel Clottey has finally been cleared to resuscitate his career with new club, Asante Kotoko.
After weeks of wait to have him cleared from the books of Tunisian giants, Esperance, Asante Kotoko a couple of days ago, finally received a Provisional Transfer Certificate, giving Clottey the all clear to feature in official matches for the club.
The former Caf Champions League top-scorer has already been duly registered by the struggling Ghanaian champions after agreeing to a three-year contract.
Supersport.com sources however reveal that Clottey may not be ready enough for Kotoko’s next Premier League game at home to WAFA SC on February 22.
“Clottey lacks match fitness having stayed out of action for a long time. He started training with the team some weeks ago but left for Accra after a few sessions. He will now be fully training with the team to get in shape,” a club source told supersport.com.
Kotoko have had quite a difficult start to the 2014/15 FCPPL as they have managed to bag eight points from a possible 21 after seven games. They lie 10th on the log.
