Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield holders Nkana will kick-off their defence of the season-opening tournament with a semi-final tie against nemesis Zesco United next week.
Nkana and Zesco have been pitted against each other in the semi-finals of this year’s Charity Shield following semi-final draws made on Wednesday by the Football Association of Zambia at Football House in Lusaka.
The record twelve-time league champions head into their date against Zesco having failed to beat the 2014 FAZ Super League champions in all competitive meetings since 2004.
Nkana and Zesco will meet in the last four on February 21 in a doubleheader at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
The other semifinal draw will see Power Dynamos face Zanaco in the lunchtime kick-off at the same venue.
Winners will meet in the final on March 7 at a venue to be announced by the Football Association of Zambia.
Zesco, Power, Zanaco and Nkana made the cut for this year’s Charity Shield after finishing first, second, third and fourth respectively at the end of the 2014 FAZ Super League season.
Nkana won last year’s Charity Shield after defeating Red Arrows 3-1 at Arthur Davies.
Meanwhile, the 2015 FAZ Super League season will kick off a week after the Charity Shield final on March 14.
