Downs eye revenge against Arrows

Mamelodi Sundowns haven't lost a league game since September, but will be eyeing revenge when they host Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 6pm.
The Brazilians are on a 15-game unbeaten run in the league with their last defeat coming against this weekends opponents - five months ago.
Pitso Mosimane's men have since opened a nine point gap atop the Premiership table. 'Downs though did lose last time out, going down 1-0 to Chicken Inn in the CAF Champions League preliminary round and will thus have even more motivation to beat their KwaZulu-Natal opponents.
“It is very important for us to win against Arrows in our next match because we lost to Arrows [in the first round], we lost to Mpumalanga [Black Aces]. Those are the two teams that took all the points from us after beating us,” said Mosimane.
The trip too Zimbabwe took its toll on some of the players, but Mosimane will be boosted by the return of Khama Billiat who missed the clash in his home country.
"We played a whole lot more on the counter, and opened up a lot as we attacked them in search of the away goal, but we just did not have the legs to sustain this," Mosimane said following their loss in Zimbabwe.
Arrows ended a four-game losing streak, beating Polokwane City 2-1 at the Old Peter Mokaba.
Head coach Clinton Larsen was delighted to see his team back to winning ways, but quickly turned his attention to 'Downs: the former Orlando Pirates midfielder has a plan for the 'Yellow Machine'.
"Despite what happened to the team at the weekend , we know what Sundowns are capable of," said Larsen.
“Having said that, we don't worry about Sundowns - we are working on a plan to try and stop them.
“We know it is going to be a difficult task. I think everybody is aware the type of football that team [Sundowns] is playing and they are blessed with talented players."
In head-to-head stats, Arrows and Sundowns have met in 29 league matches since 2000/01.
The Brazilians have 13 wins compared to nine for Abafana Bes’thende, while seven matches have been drawn.
When the teams met earlier this season, Abafana Bes’thende claimed a 2-1 home win over the Brazilians.
Arrows were the last team to defeat Sundowns in the Absa Premiership, claiming a 2-1 home win back in September.
