‘Enyimba like trophies’

Enyimba chairman, Felix Anyansi-Agwu has described the Nigerian champions as a side with a culture of winning trophies.
The two-time African champions will confront Federation Cup and NPFL Super 4 champions in Wednesday’s Charity Cup at the Abuja National Stadium.
Anyansi-Agwu said the People’s Elephant expect nothing less than outright victory in the season’s opening match against the Promise Keepers.
“We have a culture of winning trophies and that is something everyone knows and appreciates.
“For us no trophy is small and that is why we have a cabinet brimming with trophies.
“We have a special mentality with which we approach championships and that is why we are Enyimba,” said the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee member to thenff.com.
The Aba outfit, who won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title last season, will go head-to-head against Federation Cup winners Akwa United at the nation’s main sporting arena.
Enyimba lost 0-1 to Vipers of Uganda in Kampala in the Caf Champions League at the weekend while Akwa United won by the same margin away to Vita Club Mokanda in the Caf Confederation Cup in Pointe Noir, Congo.
The Charity Cup clash on Wednesday in Abuja will herald the commencement of the 2015/16 league season at the weekend.
