Chiefs out to add to Martizburg's woes

Kaizer Chiefs will be chasing successive Absa Premiership wins when they welcome a struggling Maritzburg United side to the FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday.
Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm.
The Amakhosi got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows in midweek, their seventh win of the season keeping them within touching distance of league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Trailing the Brazilians by 10 points, Chiefs can't afford to continue slipping up and even less so against a side battling relegation.
Maritzburg United are in serious danger of dropping to the National First Division, with one win in 16 league fixtures the KwaZulu-Natal side prop the table - six points from safety.
Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela last season guided Maritzburg to their first ever top eight finish, but there will be no time for favours this weekend.
“Not that I'm seeking vengeance, but we are professionals. Even if I were to up against my brother as long as he is wearing blue and white and I'm wearing gold and black, I’ve got to do my job," said Komphela on facing his former employers.
“We are also fighting for our lives and we want three points."
Chiefs have at times looked nervous as they aim to keep the heat on the teams above them in the log standings and Komphela admits its something they are working on.
“There was more tension [in the game against Arrows] and we don’t know where it comes from – maybe it is because we don’t want to commit too many errors.
“But we can’t be like that, we are too big, we have to handle the pressure," Komphela added.
Ernst Middendorp's 250th game as a Premier Soccer League coach failed to go as planned with a 3-1 defeat at Polokwane City stretching their winless run to six matches.
The Team of Choice were leading at the break, but ended the game on the losing side with Brian Onyango seeing red, this left the German head coach fuming.
"We made individual mistakes in the first 10 minutes and continued with them for the better part of the game," said Middendorp
"Then there was the red card and bringing the opposition into a position where they could actually win the game. We are in charge of what we do on the field but if we want to stay in the PSL, we need to stop this sh*t!."
In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and Chiefs have met in 19 league matches since 2005/06.
The Amakhosi have seven wins compared to five for the Team of Choice, while seven matches have been drawn.
Chiefs have won five of their nine home matches against Maritzburg, suffering two defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season in Pietermaritzburg they played out a 1-1 draw.
Chiefs have won three of their last five home league matches against United.
