Marseille to take Odemwingie on loan

Peter Odemwingie is expected to complete a loan move from English Premier League side, Stoke City to Olympique Marseille before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The French club are understood to be keen on taking Odemwingie on loan for the rest of the season.
The Nigerian forward is now expected to fly into France later on Monday to have his medical and to finalize personal terms with the Marseille club.
Olympique Marseille made the move to land the striker on Sunday, as he has just six months left on his contract with Stoke City, who are cutting down on their squad number.
The former Cardiff City man has played very few first-team football this term at Stoke owing the arrivals of Ibrahim Afellay and Xherdan Shaqiri as well as a lengthy spell on the sideline due to injury in the previous season.
Odemwingie, who has an option of another year embedded in his contract with Stoke, has made just seven appearances for The Potters.
If the 34-year-old completes his loan move to Marseille, then he would be making a return to the French Ligue 1 for the first time since 2007 when he left Lille OSC.
