Egypt international, Mohamed Elneny, has earned plaudits from Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, following his debut appearance for the club in their FA Cup win over Burnley.
Wenger described the first appearance of the Egyptian midfielder as "very good in many aspects."
The Frenchman was impressed by the work-rate of the 23-year-old during the English FA Cup game on Saturday and feels his performance on the day "was encouraging" for a first appearance.
"His first performance was very good in many aspects. He had plenty of passes, he made 84 passes and 98 per cent were completed. His movement was good, he had a high work-rate. He has to adapt to the toughness of the challenges and certainly gain a little bit in confidence to be more incisive in his passing, but overall for a first performance it was encouraging," Wenger said on Arsenal's official website.
Elneny is available for selection against Southampton in Tuesday's English Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium.
