Pitso Mosimane will have his squad depth tested when his side host Chippa United in the Absa Premiership tonight.
The latest of his star names to drop out of contention is key midfielder Bongani Zungu, who is expected to be sidelined for 12 weeks with a leg fracture and could conceivably have played his last game for the club.
He is due back at the beginning of May for the final stretch of the season, but having decided to leave Sundowns for Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes at the end of the campaign, Mosimane may rely on other players for their final few matches.
Mosimane has a number of other headaches for what is a bust February.
Liberian international striker Anthony Laffor remains on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, while club captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele is also a long-term absentee.
Mogakolodi Ngele will miss the Chippa match with a hamstring problem, while left-back Tebogo Langerman sits out through suspension.
Sundowns will look to complete the ‘Double’ over the Chilli Boyz having won 1-0 in Port Elizabeth earlier in the campaign thanks to a Laffor goal.
They have never lost to United, winning three and drawing two of their previous five matches.
