The University of Pretoria will be out to add to Moroka Swallows' woes when they welcome the Soweto side to Tuks Stadium for an Absa Premiership clash on Tuesday evening. Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
AmaTuks have not been in good form of late with their goalless draw at Orlando Pirates stretching their winless run in the league to six games.
Sammy Troughton's men though will fancy their chances against the Dube Birds who currently occupy last place in the league standings.
Swallows picked up their first draw since the turn of the year away to SuperSport United earlier this month. Clayton Daniels scored a late equaliser for Matsatsantsa in a 1-1 stalemate.
AmaTuks coach Seloatse ‘Sly’ Mosala explained that Tuks won't be doing Swallows any favours as they are still fearing the drop themselves as they eye a top-eight finish.
"At the end of the day the game is big for everyone as we are seeking space between ourselves and the relegation zone as well. If we lose we are close to those at the bottom and if we win we are into the top eight," said Mosala.
"We are fighting for our lives, the result will be very important.
"We have been unlucky, we have performed well, but good performances without a result means nothing. This is a very big game for us."
Swallows' head coach Craig Rosslee was left defeated following his side's draw against SuperSport, knowing three points would've lifted his side from bottom spot.
"Credit to the boys who travelled home from Port Elizabeth, got on the bus and then travelled all the way to Polokwane, and their performance was outstanding to take the lead,"said Rosslee.
"I thought we defended well; I thought we created a great couple of chances as well, and just the slip at the last minute - we could have gone all the way with the three points.
"I'm very happy with the performance and the fighting spirit, but very disheartening to go down with an equaliser with two minutes to go."
In head-to-head stats, Tuks and Swallows have met in five league matches since 2012/13.
The Pretoria side has claimed three wins compared to one for the Birds, while one match has been drawn.
Tuks have an unbeaten home record against Swallows, with one win and one draw from two matches.
When the teams met earlier this season, AmaTuks claimed a thrilling 3-2 away win in Soweto.
