AmaZulu aim to keep winning

KwaZulu-Natal based club AmaZulu will be hoping to keep the winning momentum when they host Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
Kick off at 7:30pm
Usuthu is back in the relegation zone and coach Steve Barker still remains positive that a win again Stars will be possible.
AmaZulu recorded a fourth win from their last seven league matches when they defeated Polokwane City 2-0 at home earlier this month.
The Durban side has claimed 13 points from 12 home matches this season.
Barker said they will treat this match with a sense of urgency and try to use their strengths.
He said mental fitness is key at this point in time and he is happy that his players have been able to cope well.
“We will have to focus on our strengths, be positive and try and use all the opportunities we get," said Barker.
“Attitude of the players is vital at this point in time. There is no room for errors we need big performances.
"We must take each game as it comes. We have done well in the last three games.
"Home form has been positive and players believe that they need to do well when they play at home."
Barker went on to say that he is aware that Stars have some match-winning players, but it will be important not to give them any freedom.
“They have good players like Ngabi, Ngele and Tshabala, and I think they will be trying to capitalise on those players," added Barker.
"They are capable of beating any team on a day, they have match winners all round. We must try and put them under pressure. We must not give them freedom."
On the other hand, Platinum Stars coach Cavin Jonson believes that the break that they had will be beneficial when they visit AmaZulu. He said match fitness will be key for his players.
"Players’ fitness is very important and the last thing you want is a fatigued team. I am happy with their progress and my technical team is doing wonders on them, every day,” said Johnson.
Stars recorded a third successive draw in the league when they held Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 away last week.
The Rustenburg side has claimed 12 points from 13 away matches this season.
“It is every player’s responsibility to make sure they get the rest they deserve and come back to fire at training and during our games," added the coach.
"It will not be easy but we must just stay determined and work hard on getting the full points.
"AmaZulu are a dangerous team."
