Nkana are in a race against time to have captain Donashano Malama and midfielder Claude Bwalya fit for Sunday’s Kitwe derby showdown at home against Power Dynamos.
Defender Malama and Bwalya have been sidelined from training this week due to injuries.
Bwalya has been out of action since Nkana’s 0-0 home draw with defending Faz Super League champions Zesco United on April 19 with a thigh injury.
Malama also sustained a thigh injury in last Saturday’s scoreless away game at Green eagles.
“Malama has a knock but I hope by the end of the week the medics will give us the full story on him but it is not a serious injury,” Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi said.
“Claude may start light training and as we go into the week he might join us.”
Meanwhile, Nkana will head into the derby at Nkana Stadium already without goalkeeper Scott Ngokane due to suspension.
Ngokane was red carded in that away draw at Eagles in the 69th minute.
His absence will see fit-again Rabson Muchelenganga, who missed start of the season due to injury, battle Charles Mweemba to replace Ngokane this weekend.
Nkana are unbeaten against Power in their last four league derby meetings with two wins and as many draws.
