Desert Foxes stay with Gourcuff

Algeria have retained Christian Gourcuff as coach despite the Desert Foxes' quarter-final exit at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Having been in charge of the team since last August 2014 and guided them through the qualifiers for the ongoing African Cup.
But Algeria could not live up to the hype of being the top-ranked African nation for the last eight months and crashed out at the quarterfinals.
"There will be changes within The Greens," Gourcuff said after his job security was confirmed by the Algerian FA.
"Some players are entering their 30s and are preparing to leave the team. We'll have to call up other younger players," the French man added.
"We already have a core of young and good players around which the future national team will be built. We'll only need to reinforce certain areas by other elements for upcoming deadlines, notably the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup."
Algeria has already started seeing a transition, as captain Madjid Bougherra retired from international football after the 3-1 defeat to the Ivory Coast on Sunday.
"It's a different life for me now," said the 70-cap defender.
"Of course you can never say 'I'll never play again' for the national team but in my mind I think it's over."
Algeria are still waiting for a Nations Cup win since 1990.
