Ibenge admits Elephants have class

DR Congo coach Florent Ibenge has admitted that Ivory Coast were a class above his team in Wednesday’s 2015 Africa Nations Cup semifinal loss to The Elephants.
Ivory Coast broke DR Congo's Africa Cup final ambitions when they crushed The Leopards 3-1 in a penultimate fixture in Bata.
An efficient Ivory Coast took the lead in the 21st minute in style when captain Yaya Toure put them ahead with a thunderbolt strike.
Dieumerci Mbokani gave DR Congo some hope when he restored parity three minutes later from the penalty spot, but Gervinho deflated all that in the 41st minute to hand Ivory Coast a 2-1 halftime lead.
Defender Wilfried Kanon then put the result beyond doubt in the 68th minute to send Ivory Coast through to Sunday’s final.
“My players ran, they had some desire, but they lacked some maturity to disturb a well organised side. I also blame the fact that we conceded first," Ibenge said.
"We were not focused enough, we made an individual mistake which gave them a lucky lead into the break."
Ibenge congratulated Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard who lived up to his surname and outfoxed him with his counterattack strategy.
“HervĂ© Renard was clever enough to realise that his team was too glamorous," Ibenge said.
"He put three centre-backs and instead of having possession, they play at the back and on the counter attack and are much more efficient.”
