Gervinho: The job needs to be accomplished

Ivory Coast sent DR Congo packing from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Bata, Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday to coast to the final but one of the Elephants’ stars Gervinho warns that the job is yet to be accomplished.
The Roma winger won the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance during the meeting which included one goal in his side’s 3-1 win over the Leopards.
“We are happy that we are in the final but the job that needs to be done is accomplishing the mission which you and I know very well,” Gervinho toldsuperport.com.
That mission is nothing else but winning the Afcon title which has eluded the Ivorian golden generation a number of times.
“It would be a reward for this generation of players and the supporters who have stood by us all these years of near misses,” he said.
The Elephants will face off against the winner between host team Equatorial Guinea and Ghana in the second semi-final. Either side wouldn’t be easy according to the former Arsenal player.
“Both teams are tough and they are not going to come to you easy in an Afcon final. Expect it hard and work for it,” he said.
