We didn't take our chances - Jackson

Platinum Stars' coach Willem Jackson is proud of his team despite losing 2-0 against SuperSport United in the MutiChoice Diski Challenge quaterfinal clash on Saturday.
"I think it was just a little bit loss of concentration in the first half. My boys played very well, they did everything. But you know with the mistakes that you make, you obviously get punished," he said.
"We made some crucial mistakes at the back, the ball got played back to the goalkeeper but he couldn't clear it. The one player just played the ball back into the game and that's how they scored."
"The other one, it was a free kick but there was not enough marking in the box. The ball just went past like that. It's those small mistakes that cost you."
Stars conceded the goals in the first half, they were both headers from Ryan Chapman and Zakhele Mgobhozi with Zama Rambuwane providing the assists.
"SuperSport also had a couple one-on-ones with the goalkeeper and he did very well. We also had chances, we also had one-on-ones in the first and second halves.
"In the second half, we were more on the ball and attacking. We created a couple of chances, unfortunately we couldn't score - the goalkeeper was quick on the game.
It was only the second time in eight matches that Stars failed to find the back of the net in the competition.
"If you can't score, you won't win the game. If you get the chance, you don't score, then you won' win. If you have a chance, you score, you win the game. Unfortunately for us, we couldn't score."
"SuperSport made used of their chance and got the result," the former Bafana Bafana defender said.
It was a heart-breaking result for the Rustenburg side which has showcased exciting youngsters like Sifiso Mnguni, Sabelo Tsambo and Kobamelo Kodisang.
"Obviously we are all disappointed, we all wanted to go to the next round. Like I said before, it's the first tournament of this kind, that MultiChoice is hosting.
"My boys did very well you know, going to the quarterfinals and played against SuperSport. I fielded a couple of youngsters, one is now with the Under-17 national team. It was a good adventure for them, it was a good eye opener. It's good for the youngsters."
ENJOY FOOTBALL
Jackson says it's important to keep motivating the youngsters and make them enjoy what they are doing.
"I told them just to go out and enjoy football. The important thing is to enjoy, play soccer. Everything will come afterwards. It's important that we teach our youngsters flair play, the South African way, how we play. We keep the ball, we play touches and all those things.
"The boys need to have fun, in football you need to have fun and win the game. If you take that away from the team, especially with the youngsters, they run away from it," he continued.
"I just told them hard luck, next time we will do much better.
"But it was good, they didn't have to put their heads down. It was just an eye opener, it had positive signs from our side," explained the club's former centre back.
Jackson also revealed that the players will still be active despite their exit in the Diski Challenge.
"Our guys are playing in the Castle League, we've got an Under-17 team that plays there. We also have a third division team, so our boys are busy with those leagues. We've got different teams, the boys have been playing school competitions.
"Most of the guys that were playing in the Diski Challenge are in school. I had about three, four players from the first team who are also in school," he elaborated.
"They are taking part in the school competitions and the various leagues, they are busy the whole season, that's why they mustn't look down. They must continue to play football throughout the season," Jackson concluded.
