Kotoko, Hearts draw ahead of super clash

AshantiGold have returned to winning ways and overthrown Aduana Stars from the top of the table after match-day 5 games of the FPPL.
Bernard Morrision banished the scare of dropping yet another points by sealing the scores at 2-1 four minutes after Bechem United equalised from a penalty strike on the hour mark. Shafiu Mumuni gave the Miners a first half lead also from the spot in the 41st minute.
Aduana Stars surrendered their unbeaten recorded to Sekondi Hasaacas who have been impeccable at home thus far. Striker Frederick Quayson shot the hosts into the lead with a strong header in the 33rd minute before Amos Korankye sealed a 2-0 victory 15 minutes into second half. Hasaacas with the win, move to second place on the league log.
Rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak who meet in the next match-day, both drew their respective games. Kotoko travelled to hold All Stars to a scoreless stalemate while Hearts were survived by an 84th minute header from new signing Richard Yamoah to draw 1-1 at home to Liberty Professionals. Tamimu Muntari had given the visitors an 18th minute lead.
Berekum Chelsea moved to fourth place after recording their first ever win against Great Olympics with a solitary strike from in-form striker Stephen Baffour – his fourth in four games after missing the season’s opener.
Francis Kyeremeh saved B.A. United from certain defeat in Sunyani after scoring in the 89th minute to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw with Heart of Lions. Tanko Mohammed had given Heart of Lions the lead early in the second half, before Kyeremeh’s intervention late on. Both sides ended the game with a player sent off.
Lanky striker Sherif Deo Mohammed scored in both halves to seal all three points for Inter Allies over New Edbuiase United at the Tema Park while youngster Zakaria Mohammed left it late with an 84th minute strike to hand WAFA SC a 1-0 triumph over Medeama SC at the Academy grounds in Sogakope.
