National Assembly happy with draw

National Assembly coach George Kampemba says there is a ray of hope after picking up their first point of the season in Sunday’s late home draw against Nakambala Leopards.
The Parliamentarians snatched a late point to finish 1-1 with Nakambala in a 2015 FAZ Super League Week Two fixture played at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
Sunday’s draw came a week after Assembly suffered a 3-1 away defeat to Napsa Stars at the same venue in both sides’ opening game of the season on March 14.
“We are happy because I believe it is very difficult for a team to come from a loss to get a win, so this draw means a lot for us,” Kapembwa said.
“At least the boys can now start to believe that they can do better than what we did on Sunday.”
Assembly were on the back foot in the opening half against Nakambala that saw the visitors take a deserved lead in the 21st minute through striker Signs Chibambo.
However, some good goalkeeping by Robert Mwanza and an off- the-line clearance by defender Alick Tembo saved Assembly from suffering further damage in the opening half before turning the tide in the final 45 minutes.
Second half substitute Isaac Ngoma made sure the two sides shared the points when he headed in Assembly’s equaliser in the 88th minute.
Assembly rise from bottom of the table, moving up four notches to 13th place after the draw on one point from two games played.
