Niyonzima enters Amavubi camp

Rwanda national team captain Haruna Niyonzima is expected to join the Amavubi camp on Thursday evening from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The midfield maestro was part of Yanga’s 3-1 victory against JKT Ruvu in the Vodacom Premier League on Wednesday to go four points clear of their closest rivals Azam on the table standings.
Niyonzima is expected to attend Friday’s morning session before newly appointed Amavubi coach Johnny McKinstry names the final 18-man squad that will face Zambia on March 29 at the National Heroes stadium in Lusaka.
This will be McKinstry’s first assignment as Amavubi head coach and the Irishman is looking forward to a positive start as he begins preparations for the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) that will be hosted in Rwanda from January 16-February 7.
The international friendly is also expected to help the Amavubi prepare for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that commence in June as well as the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers that will start in October.
