Big names try out at Highlanders

Big name players have appeared at the Highlanders' pre-season which began on Monday as new coach Bongani Mafu started work for the 2015 season.
The club’s former captain Joel Ngodzo was among a host of players who turned up at Hartsfield Ground while striker Obadiah Tarumbwa also featured as he seeks to return to the Bulawayo giants.
Tarumbwa has been on the books of Bantu Rovers who were relegated at the end of last season while Ngodzo was with How Mine.
Mafu was playing his cards close to his chest, declining to reveal whether he is signing the duo or any other player who trained with the club, .
“I need players who are under the age of 28 because I am looking at the future of the club. These players came to training on their own will and I am just having a look at them,” Mafu said.
“Right now I am introducing the players to my philosophy. It is still a long way to go before I finalise the squad and it is also too early to say many things because we have just started. I think it is not fair to talk about whom exactly I will sign or release. I am sure the chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede, is the right person to give comment on this issue.”
Chicken Inn goalkeeper Liberty Chirava also trained with Highlanders as well as How Mine midfielder Edmore Muzanenhamo as well as Hwange defender Tonisani Sibelo.
Bruce Kangwa and goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya missed the first two days of training.
