Gabon coach Jorge Costa has settled on a replacement for midfielder Mario Lemina to complete his team's Afcon squad.
Lemina rejected outright an invitation to honour his native country at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations set to begin in Equatorial Guinea in about a fortnight.
The France senior team hopeful took to Twitter to reject the invite a few minutes after the 23-man squad for the Panthers’ campaign at the 30th Afcon tournament was made public.
“I am not going to the Afcon Everything that's being said at the moment is only rumours, I'm sorry but there's been no agreement between Gabon and me,” the 21-year old Marseille man tweeted in December.
Head coach Jorge has now filled his void with midfielder Bonaventure Sokambi who recently moved from local side FC Mounana to Algeria’s ASO Chlef.
Gabon face 2013 finalists Burkina Faso on the opening day – January 17, before games against Congo and hosts Equatorial Guinea in Group A of the Afcon.
