Ikenna Hillary joins Maltese champs

Nigerian midfielder Ikenna Hillary has signed with Maltese Premier League champions Valletta FC.
Hillary joins Valletta for the rest of the season after signing for the Malta club on Thursday.
The defensive midfielder impressed Valletta head coach Ivan Zammit in test matches and the Maltese champions did not hesitate in completing in deal for him on loan.
Hillary told supersport.com that Valletta are a club with "great vision" and he wants to help them retain their league title this season.
The 23-year-old, who featured at the 2014 Chan with Nigeria, is unperturbed that he is not playing in one of the top European leagues. He believes pitching up with Valletta can offer him a better chance to bigger things.
"Valletta are a good club with great vision. I am here to help them win the league again so they can return to the Champions League and the (Maltese FA) Cup too," he told supersport.com.
"I am not bothered (by the fact that I have signed for a Malta club) because football is something you don't decide where you play or where you don't. It's something that comes with passion; you play where you are needed at the time to enjoy what you love doing and with that, more better opportunities come up."
Hillary, who has been given squad number 13 at Valletta, was on the books of Sunshine Stars last season. He now has the task of helping the White Warriors to a 23rd league title.
