Kasperczak hails Mali’s ‘organisation and quality’

Mali coach Henryk Kasperczak praised his side for a 1-1 draw with Cameroon in their opening Group D match at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Malabo on Tuesday night.
Sambou Yatabare put the Eagles ahead in the 71st minute, but the Indomitable Lions struck back through Ambroise Oyongo just over 10 minutes later to force a share of the spoils.
Yatabare thought he had scored a winner early in extra time, but the goal was correctly disallowed for offside.
The result sees all four teams level on one point in Group D after Ivory Coast and Guinea also drew 1-1 on Tuesday.
“It was a full game with intensity and a good rhythm. Mali showed a lot of focus with a good organisation,” said Kasperczak after the match.
“The second goal disallowed is a pity, we don’t know what was the reason [Sambou Yatabaré was clearly offside].
“But Mali displayed a quality football. And we also faced a good Cameroon side. It was a good encounter.”
Mali’s next Afcon match is against Ivory Coast on Saturday evening.
