F/Eagles must not falter against Ivorians

Former Flying Eagles head coach, Tunde Disu has charged the side to maintain 100% record against the Ivorian opposite, Junior Elephants at the ongoing Orange African Under-20 Championship in Senegal.
The Eagles will confront their West African opponents in Saturday’s last Group A clash at the Stade Caroline Faye, Mbour.
The Nigerian campaigners have already booked their semifinals ticket at the biennial football showpiece as well as passage to the upcoming Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand with wins against hosts, Senegal and Congo Brazzaville.
Disu said the coach Manu Garba tutored side must go all out to show dominance against the Ivorians at least to prove to doubters that their previous two convincing victories against hosts, Senegal and Congo Brazzaville were not fluke.
“Of course, Flying Eagles have everything to play for against Ivory Coast even though the game looks insignificant at the moment.
“Yes, they’ve qualified for the semifinals with the two victories against hosts, Senegal and Congo Brazzaville as well as the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand but they’ve their pride and record to maintain by making it 100% marks at the group stage of the competition.
“The rivalry between both countries has been legendary and Ivory Coast have always seen Nigeria as a team to beat.
“Ivory Coast will certainly come all out to prove some points but they’ll discover that the present crops of Flying Eagles players are simply unbeatable.
“Flying Eagles must come out to pummel their Ivorian counterparts hands down, at least, to send a strong signal to the semifinals opponents of their readiness to earn Africa’s seventh title.
“I’m happy with the side’s progression in the championship and especially happy that one of my Saudi’89 ‘Damman Miracle’ squad, Nduka Ugbade is a member of the coaching crew.
“I’m certain his contribution must have impacted positively on the team’s success as well as other coaches,” said the former Nigerian star to supersport.com.
Ivory Coast must defeat Nigeria to be guaranteed a place in the AYC semifinals as well as the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
