Zeca warns Leopards of complacency

Black Leopards’ six wins in a row this year have suddenly catapulted the side into promotion play-off contenders in the National First Division.
Lidoda Duvha were in disarray when coach Mark Harrison left for CAPS United in Zimbabwe at the start of January, but have been reborn as a force under new coach Zeca Marques.
They have five wins in the NFD and another 6-2 mauling of fellow second-tier side FC Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup that has made plenty sit up and take notice.
“It’s good to know that you can score five goals, and we have done it again since then, but that is the past. We need to focus on the present,” Marques said.
“Teams are changing the way they play against us. This is another obstacle in our path to the play-offs.”
Next up on Saturday is a trip to relegation-threatened Maluti FET College that Marques says will be no easy fixture.
“We don’t expect any favours from them. We expect a difficult game. Charles Mopeli Stadium is a difficult place to play, but we have to soldier on and pull together,” he said.
“We have to realise that every game is crucial if we want to be in the play-offs, and we have to roll up our sleeves, dig deep and work for the result.”
Leopards are currently in sixth position, five points behind third-placed Thanda Royal Zulu with nine matches left in the league season.
