Asante Kotoko have left Ghana with a 30-man contingent for Saturday’s Caf Champons League clash with Algeria’s MC El Eulma.
The delegation made up of 19 players and 11 technical and management officials was led by Ghana Football Executive Committee member, Emmanuel Asante.
David Duncan, who has agreed a two-year contract to become Kotoko’s new head coach was roped in late and has flown out with the team to observe and supervise activities before fully taking charge of affairs next week.
Goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi, who has had a run of games in the first team squad, is included, as are fellow goalkeepers Joseph Addo and Isaac Amoako.
Newly appointed club captain Amos Frimpong is also included, as are the likes of Abeiku Ainooson, Akwasi Acheampong and Atta Kusi, among others.
Experienced midfield trio Stephen Oduro, Jordan Opoku and Michael Akuffu also make the squad, together with ex-Berekum Chelsea hardman Jackson Owusu.
Ahmed Toure, who has scored three times in the First Capital Plus Premier League this season, is included, together with emerging talent Dauda Mohammed and Obed Owusu.
The team will have a brief stopover in Istanbul in the early hours of Wednesday before continuing to Algiers and then to the city of Eulma where the match will be played.
Eulma host Kotoko in a first leg tie of the Caf Champions League 1/16th round at the Stade Messaoud Zougar at 5pm GMT this Saturday.
