Simukonda ready for Nigeria challenge

Zambia Under-23 coach Fighton Simukonda says they are not intimidated by Nigeria, whom they face in the 2015 All Africa Games second round qualifiers later this month.
Nigeria Under-23 beat Gabon 2-0 in Abuja on Saturday to advance 6-1 on aggregate, to the final qualifying stage of the Congo-Brazzaville football tournament.
Zambia on the other hand did not break any sweat following a preliminary round walkover result, against Madagascar after the latter withdrew from the qualifiers.
“I know Nigeria plays good football but we have psyched the players not to be intimidated, they are just a team like us,” said Simukonda.
Nigeria will host Zambia in the first leg match on March 21 in Abuja while the second leg will be played three weeks later in Lusaka during the weekend of April 11.
“The game will be difficult but we just have to prepare well to avoid a defeat away and ease the return fixture," Simukonda said.
The winner will qualify to the All Africa Games football tournament to be held from September 4-19 in Brazzaville.
This will be the two sides' first meeting since they clashed at the 2003 All Africa Games tournament in Nigeria when the hosts beat Zambia 2-0 in a Group A match.
