Mozambique U23s eliminate Uganda

Mozambique’s under 23 national team are through to the next round of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifiers after beating their Ugandan counterparts, the Kobs, 4-1 on spot kicks at Nakivubo Stadium in Kampala on Saturday.
Both teams huffed and puffed over the two legs in Maputo and Kampala but could not produce a goal in open play in 180 minutes of football.
Substitute Julius Malingumu was the only one to convert his kick for the Kobs. His Vipers teammate Farouk Miya and KCC striker Derrick Nsimbambi had theirs saved.
Gildo and Luis were some of the hosts’ scorers from the spot as Mozambique set up a final round date with Ghana.
Just like it was in Maputo two weeks ago, the game at Nakivubo lacked vision and direction with the hosts having promising attempts but without making any inroads.
Defender Joseph Nsubuga and Miya had good chances to open the scoring but fluffed the opportunities.
Yunus Sentamu started upfront alongside Villa Oromochan but the strikers were ineffective. They were later replaced by Martin Kizza and Malingumu but the visitors held on to send the tie to spot kicks, out-converting Uganda 4-1.
