Sundowns out to revive title hopes

Mamelodi Sundowns will be out to re-ignite their title ambitions when they meet Free State Stars in an Absa Premiership encounter at Charles Mopeli Stadium in Phuthaditjhaba on Saturday evening.
Kick-off is at 8:15 pm.
'Downs suffered their first league loss since August last year, going down 1-0 to Bidvest Wits on Tuesday evening.
The defeat leaves the Brazilians 13 points off runaway leaders Kaizer Chiefs heading into their final 10 games of the season.
Ea Lla Koto meanwhile came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in midweek, their fourth successive stalemate in 2015.
Stars defender Daniel Cardoso predicts a tough battle against a wounded Sundowns outfit who head to the Free State eager on getting their title charge back on track.
"It was good result for us [against Pirates], but we are expecting an even tougher battle against the champions who come here off the back of a defeat. They are going to be fired up," said Cardoso.
"A win would be great but we will take a point. We play swallows next week and we need to win there so four points from the two fixtures would be a bonus.
"We are trying to get into the top eight, but for the time being we are concentrating on getting as many points as possible."
Pitso Mosimane was humble in defeat to the Clever Boys and insists his side will keep on going as they aim to retain their league crown.
"Well, as for the league title race, we are still competing in the Nedbank Cup and in the Caf Champions League. They are all important competitions for us," said Mosimane.
“We try to win, we try to play. It was a difficult game [against Wits], we’ve got to also respect the opponent, they did very well.
"But you keep going, you can’t give up because you’ll never know what’s going to happen tomorrow or what’s going to happen on Saturday. So in football you keep going.”
In head-to-head stats, Stars and Sundowns have met in 50 league matches since 1986.
The Brazilians have 23 wins compared to 10 for Ea Lla Koto, while 17 matches have been drawn.
Stars have won seven of their 24 home matches against Sundowns, suffering eight defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season, ‘Downs claimed a 2-0 home wins thanks to goals from Cuthbert Malajila and Khama Billiat.
