Rwanda lands Zambia friendly

Rwanda's senior national football team will face Zambia in a friendly game on March 29 in Lusaka in preparation for the 2016 African Nations Championships (Chan) that will be hosted in Rwanda from January 16-February 7.
According to the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa), this friendly will also help the Amavubi to prepare for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign scheduled for June this year.
Ferwafa technical director Lee Johnson has revealed that he is compiling a list of international fixtures for the Amavubi as well as the Chan team and the U-23 side preparing for the Rio 2016 Olympic qualifiers which commence with a first round encounter against Somalia next month.
The U-23 side will face South Africa’s U-23 on March 25 in Johannesburg. The youthful side settled for a goalless draw against the Tanzania U-23 side in January in Mwanza and against Burundi last December in Kigali, the result was a goalless draw as well.
The new Amavubi head coach who will be named on March 15 will be in charge of the national side for the friendly games against South Africa and Zambia later this month.
