Ogbonnaya ready for Heartland opener

Kano Pillars defender Reuben Ogbonnaya cannot wait for the 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League season to start and says he has his sights on picking up a win in Owerri against Heartland on match day one.
The reigning Glo Premier League champions will start the defence of their crown when they travel to Owerri for a week one encounter against a Heartland side that want to start the league on a bright note.
Ogbonnaya has been a regular in the heart of the Kano Pillars defence since his much-publicised move from El-Kanemi in the off-season.
"I can't wait for this weekend's game against Heartland in Owerri. It will be my first game in the league for the club and I want to start on a winning note," Ogbonnaya told supersport.com.
"We want to retain our league title and getting the three points against Heartland will send out warning signals to our rivals.
"Pillars want to win everything in sight this season. I think we can do it with the calibre of players the team has signed this season."
Ogbonnaya featured prominently as Kano Pillars eliminated Al-Malaika of South Sudan to set up a date with Moroccan side Moghreb Athletic de Tetouan in the round of 32 in the Caf Champions League.
The former El-Kanemi Warriors defender says the start of the league will make the team better and they will be fitter when they confront the Moroccans.
"I'm quite pleased the league is starting this weekend. It's a great opportunity for us (Pillars) because match fitness won't be an issues again," he revealed.
"The new players will also blend with the rest of the squad which will make us ready for the next clash in the Champions League.
"The three points at Heartland is not negotiable. We want to win there and start the league with three points in the bag."
