Dike warns F/Eagles ahead AYC finale

Former Golden Eaglets head coach, Alphonsus Dike has told Flying Eagles that the watchword is 100 percent concentration against hosts, Senegal.
The six-time African champions will confront West African opposite, Young Lions of Teranga in Sunday’s final of the 2015 Orange African Under-20 Championship in Senegal at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Dakar.
Nigeria caged highly rated Black Satellites of Ghana 2-0 in the semifinals while hosts, Senegal stunned favourites, Mali 2-1 in same stage of the competition to pave the way for the grand finale of the biennial football showpiece.
Dike said the only hindrance to Nigerians’ claim of their seventh title will be complacency in the final clash against Senegal.
“I believe the toughest threat to Flying Eagles winning the coveted African Youth Championship title is West African arch-rivals, Black Satellites of Ghana.
“Now that the Ghanaians are no more contestants to the throne the only factor that can deny the Nigerians the title is complacency against hosts, Senegal.
“So if I must warn the side the watchword is avoid complacency in its entirety while maintaining 100% concentration throughout the duration of the game.
“They must not even remember the fact that they’ve beaten same side in the group stage of the championship.
“Senegal will be all out to achieve revenge so I advice Eagles to come out in their very best colour to prove to doubters that their win against the hosts wasn’t a fluke.
“It’ll be a difficult game unlike the previous encounter but I’ve the confidence that Eagles will win the final tie at the end of the day,” said the former Enugu Rangers manager to supersport.com.
The semifinalists of the championship namely Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Mali have qualified to represent Africa at the upcoming Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
