Pillars won’t lose at MAT

Kano Pillars captain and goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai has said his side will not comeback empty-handed from the clash at Moroccan champions, Moghreb Athletic de Tetouan, MAT.
The Nigerian champions are guests of the North African side in Saturday’s Caf Champions League round of 32 first leg tie at 10,000 seats Saniat Rmel, Tetouan, Morocco.
Afelokhai said both sides are evenly matched as current champions of their respective country’s domestic league.
“We’re heading to Tetouan, Morocco to fight on the field of play for good result against Moghreb Athletic de Tetouan.
“We don’t have more information on the Moroccan side except that we’re told they’re the current champions of the country’s top flight league.
“We’re equally the Nigerian domestic champions which make the match the clash of champions.
“We’re aiming for either of the results, a win or draw but we can’t return home empty-handed from the clash.
“We’ll fight very hard to win for our injured teammates in the armed robbery attack who unfortunately won’t be part of the battle in Morocco.
“We’re supposed to be 18 players for the match at Moghreb Athletic Tetouan but only 17 made the trip.
“Christian Obiozor was dropped for undisclosed disagreement with the management and that somehow affected the mood of the team.
“Ordinarily our spirit is supposed to be 100% but that’s not the case at the moment though we’re still determined to give good account of ourselves in Morocco,” said the Nigerian shot stopper to supersport.com.
The reverse fixture is fixed for March 28 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in kano same date Nigerians will be going to the polls to elect the nation’s president as well as assembly men and women.
