Pirates out for revenge against Aces

Orlando Pirates will look to continue their fine form in the Absa Premiership when they host Mpumalanga Black Aces at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
The Buccaneers have extended their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches with a 2-0 win over Chippa United last Tuesday.
Eric Tinkler’s men are placed at position three on the log with 40 points from 23 matches and their visitors, after parting ways with coach Clive Barker, ended an eight-game winless streak in the league when they defeated the struggling Moroka Swallows by 2-1 last Saturday.
Jacob Sakala was appointed as the coach following the departure of Barker.
The Witbank-based club occupy 11th spot on the log with 26 points from 23 matches.
However, the hosts will hope to get the three points and avenge the first round loss when Collins Mbesuma and Mabhudi Khenyeza scored to give Aces the 2-1 win.
According to the Sea Robbers’ spokesperson, Mickey Modisane, they cannot be held ransom by Mpumalanga Black Aces.
“They’ve been struggling and have a new coach who will aim to prove to his management that he’s the man for the job,” said Modisane.
“We cannot allow them to come here and bag the three points, our aim is to finish the league as high as possible.
“We’re moving in the right direction and we must not allow them to come to our home and hold us ransom.
“We’re doing well, scoring and entertaining our supporters and giving them the right to come here and spoil our positive energy – leaving us with negative moods and affecting our rhythm is not going to happen.”
Speaking to the Aces defender, Mzivukile Tom, the club has been revived by the win over the Dube Birds and they aim to continue winning.
“I hope and wish that we’ve turned the corner, we’ll go to Pirates motivated but I must admit it’s not going to be easy because we beat them in the first round,” said Tom.
“They’re doing well, on a good run and it’s not going to be easy to break that especially in Orlando, but we’re destined to cause an upset.
“We’re motivated after the Swallows win and we really needed the points because our position is just bad as we speak.
“We don’t have injuries and we’re all available so that’s a boost ahead of this one.”
