Chiefs needed Birds win badly - Baxter

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter sang praises for the Glamour Boys following their 3-0 victory against Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday night.
"I wouldn't have liked to come out again and say we played well but didn't score goals," said Baxter. "We scored goals today and that's what the doctor ordered."
"I was really pleased we the way the players approached the game," added Baxter as his side came back from a back-to-back losses to display fine football under a heavy rain at the Dobsonville Stadium.
"In this circumstance where you play a dangerous opponent, you really have to work hard," says Baxter. "Swallows were a constant threat. At one stage I was worried, at 1-0, thinking they can equalize in these conditions,"
Chiefs triumph came from Mphela, Lebese and Parker's goals.
"Killer (Mphela) is not yet sharp. He is in a process of regaining his sharpness. I'm pleased because he is working hard at training and he is getting into good scoring positions," comments Baxter.
"Swallows strength lies in their attack. Given the game and the rainy conditions out defenders played well," Baxter refers to his back row. Chiefs have conceded only 11 goals in the league this season.
The win consolidated Chiefs lead on top of the log with 54 points after 24 matches played. "Football season is long. What's important is when the last whistle is blown at the end of the season," concludes Baxter.
