Aces aim for win over Maritzburg

Mpumalanga Black Aces will be hoping to gain three points when they welcome KwaZulu-Natal club Maritzburg United at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday for their Absa Premiership clash.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
In Aces' last encounter they played to a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns which is their ninth of the season.
The Mpumalanga side has claimed 13 points from as many home matches this season.
Aces player Aubrey Ngoma said they need to take this match very seriously, especially since Maritzburg have not been stable.
“We must use the home ground to our advantage and make sure that we get the three points," said Ngoma.
"Every team at this point in time is thinking about collecting the points and so it will be good for us to get a win especially at home.”
With Clive Barker no longer the head coach, Ngoma said they are focusing and working hard on meeting the clubs objectives.
“We are adapting to what is required from us and we are working hard at getting the positive results once again," added Ngoma.
"Having experienced players is a bonus to us and we are hoping that they will come to the party."
AmaZayoni are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 27 points from 25 matches.
Maritzburg suffered a fourth home defeat when they were beaten 1-0 by SuperSport United earlier this month.
Recently capped Under 23 player Deolin Mekoa said he is expecting a tough match but hopes to do well for the club.
“Things are getting harder but we will be aiming to get the maximum points," said Mekoa.
"I hope to continue with a good run and hopefully find the back of the net.
“Whenever I play I always put the club first and so each game I want to do well for the club and add value.”
The KwaZulu-Natal side has claimed 13 points from 11 away matches this season.
Mekoa said they need to keep on fighting and believing in themselves and what the coach wants them to do.
“We must believe in ourselves and take the coaches instructions very well. A win can be a huge boost to us mentally,” he added.
The Team of Choice is placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 30 points from 24 matches.
In head-to-head stats, Aces and Maritzburg have met in seven league matches since 2009/10.
The Team of Choice has four wins compared to two for AmaZayoni, while just one match has been drawn.
Aces have won two of their three home matches against United, suffering one defeat in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season in Pietermaritzburg, they played to a goalless stalemate.
