Nigeria’s Supersand Eagles head coach Audu Adamu Ejo has said his side are not scared of any opposition at the 2015 African Beach Soccer championship in Seychelles.
The eight-team championship in the Indian Ocean Island also serves as the African qualifying tournament for the 2015 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.
Ejo said his side have immense self-belief and will not suffer any stage fright when hostilities start on Tuesday.
“We’ve prepared very well for this championship with the support of the Nigeria Football Federation. The Power Horse Invitational tournament in Durban in early March was a good competition for us as it helped us to identify weak points and our areas of strength.
“We’ve played all the teams that are here at one time or the other so none is strange to us. We’re fit and confident and we believe we can go all the way,” said Ejo.
Nigeria take on the hosts Seychelles in the opening match at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Egypt and Ivory Coast are the other members of Group A.
Captain Isiaka Olawale and veteran star Ikechukwu Ibenegbu have reiterated that the side will first aim at a World Cup ticket then the championship trophy.
The championship two finalists will fly Africa’s flag at the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal in July.
