Mamelodi Sundowns striker Cuthbert Malajila and head coach Pitso Mosimane have scooped the Absa Premiership Player of the Month and Coach of the Month awards respectively for February and March 2015.
The Tshwane outfit, guided by former Bafana Bafana mentor Mosimane, won five of the six league games they played during the voting period as they led the chase to catch runaway log leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Spearheaded by a dominant attack and well backed by their solid defence, the Brazilians scored 15 times and conceded only two goals in their six matches during the voting period.
Malajila was the star player, ripping through their opposition by hitting the back of the net in four games. The Zimbabwean international struck five times as he climbed to the top to be among leading Absa Premiership goal scorers for the 2014/15 season.
As proud sponsors of the Premiership, Absa is pleased to recognise Malajila and Mosimane for the roles they played in their team's dominant performances as they shine at the highest level of the domestic game.
Judging Panel: Farouk Khan (Convenor), Lucas Radebe (Absa Brand Ambassador), Thabiso Tema, Duane Dell’Occa, Mthuthuzeli Scott and Zama Masondo.
