University of Pretoria skipper Tebogo Monyai says his side will be looking to make the most of Kaizer Chiefs' ailing form in 2015 when they host the Absa Premiership leaders in a league match at Tuks Stadium on Tuesday night.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
Despite being unable to register a win in their last four outings, the Tuks captain says his side are confident of getting a result against the Amakhosi.
The university side’s last win came on March 8 in 1-0 triumph over Maritzburg United. Since then the side from Tshwane has suffered three losses and one draw, their last outing ending a three-game losing streak with a 2-2 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic.
That string of results has seen Tuks drop to tenth on the league table with 30 points, but a win over Chiefs could see them back into the top eight in seventh place.
“It is a big game to everyone. It's like playing Manchester United of England, everyone wants to play in this match, that makes the job for the coach much easier,” said Monyai.
“We are all very motivated, it's all about controlling the excitement of the players.
“We are playing them at the right time, at the right place, at Tuks Stadium. If you play against Chiefs on a bigger field they will kill you with their passing game.
“We are up for it, they have been struggling a bit of late, yes we haven't done well over our past few games, but we are ready to bounce back.
“The game is very important to us and a win will takes us a few steps closer to qualifying for the top eight. Everyone is excited, motivated and ready to go.”
Chiefs come into this game off the back of a slender 1-0 win over AmaZulu in their last outing, which ended a two-game losing streak.
The Amakhosi have not been in the best of form in 2015 with only six wins in 13 outings this year in all competitions.
Still, Chiefs top the league standings with 57 points from 25 matches, ten points clear of second-placed Sundowns.
Amakhosi skipper Tefu Mashamaite, though, says they cannot rest on their laurels and will continue to work hard as they close in on the league title.
“We have to continue to fight to win the league title, but we are focusing on one game at a time,” said Mashamaite.
“Tuks is up next and it will not be an easy match as they are fighting to get into the top eight.
“We both have a lot at stake.
“We have been working hard in training and are looking forward to the match.”
In head-to-head stats, Tuks and Chiefs have met in five league matches since 2012/13. The Amakhosi have claimed three wins compared to one for AmaTuks, while one match ended in a draw.
When the teams met earlier this season, a brace from Reneilwe Letsholonyane secured the Amakhosi a 2-1 home win.
