Lwandamina hails Zesco’s effortless win

Zesco United coach George Lwandamina has described Sunday’s emphatic home win over promoted Mufulira Wanderers as an effortless exercise.
The defending Faz Super League champions crushed nine-time winners Wanderers 4-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Sunday.
Sunday’s win also ended Wanderers’ two-match fairy tale run that saw them pick up six points and enjoy a brief stay in second spot.
Zesco had such an easy day at home that they took a 3-0 lead in the opening 40 minutes.
“It was a one-sided game unfortunately. I know Wanderers, they play good football, ground football, but we put them under pressure and we forced them to make mistakes. You know, they are still a young side and they cannot play under pressure,” Lwandamina said.
Zesco took the lead in the 16th minute when Cletus Chota slotted in a penalty.
Winston Kalengo headed in the second goal in the 27th minute before Jackson Mwanza prised open Wanderers’ defense to in the 38th minute to make it 3-0 into the break.
Kenyan international defender David Owino head in the final goal in the 63rd minute before Wanderers got their consolation goal from the penalty spot in stoppage time through defender Moses Lolozi.
Zesco, who have two games in hand, rise to 4th after the win on 6 points, two behind leaders Green Eagles.
Wanderers tumble from 2nd to 7th after the defeat with 6 points after four games played.
