Egypt senior national team director Alaa Abdel Azeez has revealed that the country's football association, the EFA, has contacted four nations for an international friendly with the Pharaohs next May.
The Egyptian FA wants to play host to the friendly match as well, supersport.com has been informed.
The Pharaohs are preparing for their first match in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania that will take place in Cairo on June 14.
The team's head coach, Hector Cuper, asked the EFA to hold two camps in May and June with two friendly matches with African teams.
"We sent a proposal for friendly matches to four teams. They are Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi and Zimbabwe but we have not received any reply from them yet. We are still working to secure good matches to be ready,” Abdel Azeez said.
Egypt have been drawn in Group G with Nigeria, Tanzania and Chad.
