Zambia striker Jacob Mulenga says he is settling down well in China at Shijiazhuang Yongchang.
The 31-year-old striker joined promoted Shijiazhuang this year following a brief stint in Turkey at Adana Demirspor that he suddenly ended last December.
Mulenga last weekend opened his account in China after four rounds of matches played with one goal in a 2-1 home win over Shanghai Shenxin.
“I am settling in well and scored last weekend in our 2-1 win,” Mulenga said.
“It is different style of football but very demanding and that’s the exciting part of having a new challenge.”
Mulenga is currently one of three high profile Zambian players currently plying their trade in the China Super League together with striker James Chamanga of Liaoning Whowin who has been there for the last seven seasons.
Defender Stopilla Sunzu also arrived in China this season from French Ligue 2 club Sochaux to join Shanghai Shenhua.
Mulenga said he is in close touch with his compatriots and that has helped him settle in very quickly.
“We try to help each other with James and Sunzu with understanding the games,” Mulenga said.
Shijiazhuang are currently 12th on the China Super League table with 4 points from as many games played with a match in hand in the 16-team competition.
