Former Algerian international, Lakhdar Belloumi, has opened the fire on Caf president, Issa Hayatou, after his country failed to win the host rights for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Gabon won the race of hosting the 2017 Afcon over the other two competitors, Algeria and Ghana.
Already a number of Algerian officials have expressed their anger after losing out of playing host to Africa's biggest football event in 2017.
Belloumi is the latest to be critical of Caf's decision to hand Gabon the host rights for the 2017 edition instead of Algeria.
The former Algerian star claimed his country gave the Caf boss a princely treatment whenever he was on their soil and were shocked that the decision of the host rights for 2017 Afcon went against them.
He also did not rule out the fact that the death of Cameroonian footballer, Albert Ebosse, while playing in a top flight match in Algeria may have influenced the decision of Caf against handing the host rights the North African nation.
"Algeria treated him like a prince every time he touched the Algeria soil and now he did that to us. I am very angry, and after Albert Ebossé he announced the war against us. That is not fair," Belloumi said in an interview with Algerian online newspaper, echoroukonline.com.
"Now we should stop thinking about what happened in Cairo from caf and we must prepare again. The Afcon host rights are taken till 2023, so we should fix our problems and be ready."
Algerian minister of sports, Mohamed Tahmi, had also expressed his unhappy with the Caf decision and said his country has treated the African football governing body with respect in the past years but will review such hospitality to the football body.
