Green Eagles battle to extend their stay at the top of the Faz Super League table for the fourth successive week, when they visit promoted Mufulira Wanderers on Saturday.
Eagles, who have been in command since Week Two on March 22, hold a slender one point advantage heading into their debut Super League visit to Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.
Justin Chinama’s side has eight points from four matches, marginally ahead of second placed Nkwazi on seven points while seventh placed Wanderers are tied on six points with Power Dynamos and Zesco United who are third and fourth respectively and all breathing down the leaders neck this weekend.
Eagles are also desperate for a win this weekend after squandering a 1-0 lead at home in their Southern Province derby against Nakambala on April 11 to finish 1-1.
“We slept a bit at the end and Nakambala punished us,” Chinama said.
“It does not help to cry over that result, we have to look forward to our next game and hope that we keep on with the good start.”
Meanwhile, hosts Wanderers head into their home game hoping to recover from their shock 4-1 away loss to defending champions Zesco United on April 12 in Ndola.
Wanderers know that another defeat will not be good for morale with another big test away to Power Dynamos in Kitwe on April 26 awaiting them in Week 6.
